FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is a voluntary accreditation scheme dedicated to raising standards across the road transport industry. Now in its 12th year, FORS continues to provide evolving best practice for transport operators of any size and vehicle make-up, including HGVs, vans, passenger carrying vehicles, powered two-wheelers and passenger cars.
With 5,000 members across the UK and Europe, FORS is a well-established transport industry accreditation scheme encompassing all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection. Fleet operators who join the scheme are required to adhere to a number of requirements as set out in the FORS Standard.
It is through progressive accreditation – Bronze, Silver and Gold – that FORS members are able to realise tangible benefits including minimising work-related road risks, boosting efficiency and reducing their environmental impact. FORS respects its diverse membership base and supports their investment in the scheme providing quality, relevant, and value-added training and services to all members across all stages of accreditation.
FORS is written into procurement contracts, and works closely with national infrastructure projects and local authorities to maximise safety, efficiency and improve air quality across the UK and beyond.
FORS members stand out from the crowd; operating to standards above the legal minimum and benefitting from access to a wide range of membership incentives that provide a competitive edge.
