On-site charging to be made available for all electric vehicles using the demonstration area of the exhibition, thanks to a unique tie up with Zenobe Energy.
Zenobe Energy, one of the UK’s leading owners and operators of battery storage, has become the latest business to back ITT Hub 2020, the new event for Innovation and Technology in Transport, that takes place for the first time in May 2020.
With an on-site vehicle demonstration area an integral part of the new event experience at the Farnborough International Conference & Exhibition Centre, Zenobe will provide plug-in electric vehicle charging points for vans, trucks and buses in the ‘Demonstration Hub’, as part of an Event Sponsorship agreement.
The agreement means that exhibitors who wish to bring along electric vehicles as part of the demonstration programme, will have easy access to charging infrastructure on site, removing the headache of having to make separate provision for it as part of their individual event planning.
It also means that power can be delivered to the vehicles in a controlled and environmentally sustainable way, without the need to deploy temporary, diesel-fuelled generators, as can be the case at other exhibition venues.
“We have a track record of being first to market with innovative solutions for our customers – for instance we were the first battery operator in the UK’s Fast Reserve market as well as being the first to provide storage and charging solutions for EV bus operators,” says Steven Meersman, Co-Founder of Zenobe Energy.
“Coming on board as an Event Sponsor at a ground-breaking event such as ITT Hub 2020 is a natural step for us, as we believe it is coming just at the right time as the introduction of electric-powered commercial vehicles rapidly gathers pace.
Welcoming the tie up, Mark Griffin, CEO of show organiser Binswood Media says: “We are delighted that Zenobe shares the same vision for ITT Hub 2020 as we do, seeing the benefits that this agreement will bring at both a brand and product exposure level.
“I am also grateful for the involvement of the venue in working closely with us to be able to facilitate this at an operational level.”
Neil Theuma, Operations Director at Farnborough International added, “Having Zenobe’s EV charging facilities on site for the duration of ITT Hub 2020 gives us all a fantastic opportunity to advance the use of electric vehicles at the venue here at Farnborough.
“The partnership is very much in tune with a number of other initiatives that we are introducing on our, site in line with our pioneering spirit. Also, it is also closely aligned with our goals around the exhibitor and visitor experience and sustainability.
At ITT Hub 2020, Zenobe’s EV charging points will be positioned in the Demonstration Hub, part of the Outdoor exhibition area, which is immediately adjacent to the main indoor exhibition in Hall 1.
ITT Hub 2020 will take place 13-14 May 2020 at the new, £30m Farnborough International Conference & Exhibition in Hampshire, home to the world renowned International Airshow and just 35 minutes by train from central London.
