“Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time and the clock is ticking so we need to act now in all sectors.
Transport accounts for just under a quarter of global CO2 emissions and still has an enormous impact too on air quality and hence health. Moving to electric, hydrogen and other forms of clean propulsion will make a huge difference. We can make that difference together. National Grid is poised, with our expertise in electricity and gas and with our infrastructure, to facilitate and help drive the successful transition to cleaner transport. We are committed to decarbonisation of our own business and to leading the transition for the economy as a whole.
Let’s work together to have a clean energy network and net zero transport – it will take the power of all of us to really make a difference.”
